This trip will lead you into a completely unknown province of Italy: the Basilicata.
We shall first visit Matera: the little town scarved into the rocks. Then we shall go to Policoro, at the seaside. Here we shall have time for the beach and also for a cultural highlight: the relicts of Magna Grecia.
Then we continue our trip to the Nature Parc of the Pollino. We shall go on a beautiful hiking tour in the hills of the park. We shall also see, how the bagpipes are built and, with a little luck we shall participate in an evening-gathering with autentical folk-music and folk-dance.
Towards the end of the week we shall go to Maratea - again at the sea-side; this time the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Again we shall go for a nice hike - right above the cliffs. There will also be enough time for the beach and the lovely little town.
I want to show you this unknown part of Italy. Crossing the Basilicata from coast to coast and show its richness of art, culture and nature.
